MAG Energy is managed by a team from a diverse spectrum of education and work experiences. The MAG team collaborates to make sure projects are completed on-time, on budget, and with no safety or environmental issues. The executive team is composed of the following individuals, each of which, will be involved to make sure the project is successful.

Leadership Team

Larry C. Masserant

CEO

Mr. Masserant has 24 years of experience in quality management, logistics, marketing and engineering. His responsibilities have ranged from customer service, product development and design, corporate budgeting, to global project manager and team leader. During this time, he spent 14 years working abroad in four continents. Currently, he manages manpower and work activities on Mid-American Group construction sites for site layout, concrete work, fireproofing, sand/water blasting, grouting, nuclear “Q” drywell cooler motor replacement, refractory, gunite, dry ice blasting, recycling of slag material and general construction. Mr. Masserant works to develop new potential customers and generate corporate sales by utilizing previous international corporate experiences and expertise in the engineering field. He is ASME NDT inspection qualified. Mr.  Masserant is also fluent in written and spoken English, German, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and has a basic knowledge of Japanese.

Keith Masserant

President

Mr. Masserant currently serves as president of Mid-American Group. He has over 30 years of experience in the Power and Steel Industries and 12 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry. His responsibilities within his tenure at Mid-American Group include project management, labor management, process improvement, quality assurance, customer service and director of the MAG sales team. Mr. Masserant’s “out-of-the-box” fresh perspectives make his authority paramount in the expansion and growth of Mid-American Group. This combination of an inventive, cutting-edge outlook and a technical skill set helped pave the way for MAG to complete the first successful removal, repair and re-installation of 6 Drywell Motors in global nuclear history at Fermi II.  He also provided Fermi II with the innovation, ingenuity and technology necessary for them to be awarded the TIP (Top Industry Practice) award in May 2012. Mr. Masserant currently holds 22 patents and is actively involved in many civic and charitable organizations. These include:

Regan Morin

CFO

Mr. Morin has over 30 years of business experience in management, quality control, sales/marketing, credit analysis, & finance.   Responsibilities the first 7-years included managing production and quality control for a manufacturing company, while representing the company to the customer buyer group.  Following this, Mr. Morin spent 22 years in banking with responsibilities in credit analysis, budgeting, & commercial lending.  As a commercial lender, Mr. Morin managed over $90 million in small business and middle market commercial loans over a 14-year period.  Currently, Mr. Morin manages the accounting and finances for Mid-American Group and related companies. Responsibilities include budgeting, cash flow analysis, projections, financial statement & tax return preparation & review.  Mr. Morin has relationships with bankers, auditors, insurance reps, and attorneys maintaining the company’s capital needs, risk analysis and legal issues.

Greg Summerlee

Vice President of Energy Services

Mr. Summerlee has over 32 years of experience in the energy services industry dating to the late 1990’s with the launch of the inaugural Demand Side Management programs in the Northeastern US. From his beginnings in the high efficiency lighting industry, mentoring under the founder of MetalOptics (now part of Acuity Brands) to launching his own energy service company in the early 2000’s (I.E.R.), 7 years creating the Lighting Services division and subsequently a leadership position with a major publicly traded ESCO (PSEG Energy Technologies), 13 years in a leadership role focusing on the Public Sector Performance Contract market (Midwest Illumination) to his current leadership role helping to drive the rapid growth of MAG Energy - Greg brings a vast body of executive and technical experience to the MAG leadership team. He has worked across North America and managed the development and implementation of some of the nation's largest and most technically challenging high efficiency lighting solutions, including major projects over a 5 year period in the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. His day to day responsibilities include management of MAG Energy’s sales, engineering, project management and technology innovation efforts. Mr. Summerlee is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America and the Association of Energy Engineers from which he holds the CLEP designation.

Drew Causey

P.E., LEED AP O+M - Director of Engineering

Mr. Causey has over 29 years of experience in engineering, construction, management, and performance contracting.  His responsibilities with MAG Energy include management of engineering audits, solution development, construction management, commissioning, and customer relations.  Drew has experience working in various markets including Commercial & Industrial, Federal Government, State & Local Government, Healthcare, Performing Arts, Higher Education, and K-12 Schools.  He has been involved in energy conservation and alternative/renewable energy since 1998 after graduating from Purdue University with a master’s degree in the thermal energy sciences and going on to teach mechanical engineering and energy conservation at the Air Force Institute of Technology.  Lt Col Causey retired from the Air Force after 23 years of active duty and guard service.  Drew is well versed in energy and utility systems allowing him to take a holistic approach to energy and environmental optimization audits, providing our clients with comprehensive solutions.

Jason Wolfe

Director of Project Management

With 20 years in the energy conservation industry, Jason is well-versed in the development and implementation of high-efficiency energy upgrades. In his current role at MAG Energy, he takes pride in working closely with MAG Energy Customers and subcontractors to ensure project success. Prior to his time with MAG Energy, Jason’s career has taken him from a Designer and Estimator for a Tier 1 automotive supplier, to being an Operations Manager for a large electrical contractor in the energy industry, where he successfully mobilized and decommissioned International projects, including a multi-million dollar project in the US Virgin Islands. Jason is a graduate of Lawrence Technological University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management.

Chad Fiedler

Director of Business Development

Chad brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to MAG Energy - 30+ years with particular focus on multinational companies in the consumer goods and energy efficiency verticals. While based in Hong Kong, he managed the Asia/Pacific region with annual sales of $400m. Prior to joining MAG Energy, Chad started his own energy services enterprise that focused on lighting retrofits. After a successful sale of his company, Chad went on to launch the national energy services accounts for one of the top commercial electricity providers in the nation. In his current role at MAG Energy, Chad brings all of that experience to the table to give MAG Energy national and global reach and effectiveness. Chad earned a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University and enjoys spending time with his Wife and 5 boys, golfing, the beach and traveling.

Alex Weldon

Director of Project Finance

Alex Weldon brings over 9 years of finance expertise to our team as Director of Project Finance, specializing in renewable energy and real estate finance. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of South Carolina. Alex has demonstrated excellence in managing photovoltaic solar system portfolios exceeding 200 megawatts in capacity and overseeing real estate portfolio acquisitions valued at over $700 million.

In his previous role as Senior Asset Manager at New Energy Equity, Alex optimized portfolio performance, provided tailored financial analysis, and spearheaded client communications, contributing to exceptional returns for stakeholders. His experience encompasses proficiency in underwriting, acquisitions, and asset management. Alex's creative problem-solving and strategic insights make him a valuable asset in driving forward our renewable energy initiatives.


 

Brian Brzuchanski

Procurement Manager

Before joining MAG Energy, Brian logged more than 20 years in the electrical distribution industry on the commercial side. In his current role as a Procurement Manager with MAG, he has a proven track record in supplier management and strategic sourcing. He diligently researches and evaluates suppliers, goods, and services, identifying the most reliable, cost-effective options that uphold stringent quality standards. Brian adeptly negotiates vendor agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for MAG Energy. He maintains meticulous records of purchases, deliveries, and product performance, fostering transparency and accountability.

Brian has extensive knowledge of lighting technology and his attention to detail has helped him further develop MAG Energy’s industry-leading onsite energy audit process. From collecting facility data to onsite stakeholder interviews to procuring materials for projects. As a graduate of Specs Howard School of Media Arts, Brian brings an extra set of eyes during MAG Energy audits with his video and photographic production experience, capturing digital documentation of customer facilities.

Chris Haag

Senior Project Development Manager

Chris holds a Bachelor's degree in economics.  He began his career designing and selling large scale public sector energy conservation projects.  His clients included Fortune 500 companies that bundled energy conservation measures and delivered a final product to the end user in the form of energy saving performance contracts.  He has developed projects throughout North America and the US Virgin Islands, addressed the Michigan State Senate regarding demand side management programs and their economic impact on the state, and managed the design and companywide implementation of energy modeling and construction management software.  In 2012 he founded his own firm which consulted for companies on a variety of issues including: regulatory compliance for distilled spirits manufacturers, virtual banking solutions, and Lean operations for manufacturers.  After spending two years bicycling from Alaska to Argentina, he returned to the energy industry in 2020 and joined MAG Energy where he takes a lead role in project development.

Eric Schneiter

Lead Development Engineer

Eric is a renewable energy professional with a strong background in the industry. In his role at MAG Energy, he serves as the lead renewable-energy engineer and is responsible for supporting solar and energy storage projects from conceptual design to commercial operation. He has held various roles over the course of his career, including Senior Associate at Panamint Capital, Energy Engineer at McKinstry, Managing Engineer at Michaels Energy, and Manager of Analysis & Procurement at Black Bear Energy.

Eric has demonstrated expertise in managing solar PV, battery storage, and energy efficiency projects, with a focus on delivering long-term value for clients and communities. Living in Denver, Colorado, Eric is dedicated to driving innovation and sustainable solutions for a greener future. Eric holds a Master of Engineering in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia.

Evan Tony

Energy Engineer

Evan works closely with Drew Causey to analyze the HVAC, Compressed Air, and Solar solutions at MAG Energy. He helps in the organization and presentation of the solutions to the customers while also communicating to contractors on the execution of these solutions. Evan plans on passing his Fundamentals of Engineering Exam this during the winter of 2022 and then following up with a LEED Certification to better assist the team.

Evan Graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. While in college, Evan assisted with numerous sustainability projects with the Engineers Without Borders Organization, one he is still a part of. The most notable of which was installing a solar ray on the island of Roatán, Honduras. After graduation, Evan worked in the Commercial and Industrial Sector as a Mechanical Designer. While there, he worked on several 1,000,000 SF+ Internet Distribution Warehouses, several offices, a hangar with a geothermal cooling system, and an underwater cable manufacturing plant. Evan now seeks to further his skills in the Energy Business to create sustainable and efficient solutions. When not working Evan enjoys collecting vinyl, biking, hiking, and is an avid board game collector.

Kyle Heywood

Solar Project Manager

Kyle Heywood is a seasoned Project Manager with extensive experience overseeing various photovoltaic array installations. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainable and Renewable Energy Systems, Kyle specializes in the development and management of solar energy projects. Managing projects from award to completion, and ensuring they stay on budget; Kyle supports bidding and RFP responses, collaborates with subcontractors, provides construction feedback, tracks budgets, and manages interconnection agreements. He is an NABCEP PV Associate and holds an FAA Remote Pilot license.  Kyle's drive, expertise, and dedication make him an asset to MAG Energy’s team.

Andrew Thorry

Solar Project Development Manager

Andrew is an accomplished and energetic solar construction professional.  With roots in construction, he transitioned into solar in 2007. Andrew holds MAG Energy’s licenses as a solar electrician in multiple states including California. He also holds a NABCEP certification as a solar inspector, attesting to his commitment, quality, and safety.

A true advocate for renewable energy, he prioritizes sustainability and minimal environmental impact, aligning his values with the green energy movement. In his current role as a solar project development manager for MAG Energy, Andrew collaborates closely with sales teams, engineers, vendors, utilities, and business partners to develop and deliver customer proposals. 

His multifaceted skills, unwavering commitment to renewable energy, and strong leadership make him an invaluable asset to the MAG Energy solar construction team.

Desire Namara

Project Development Assistant

Desire Namara is a Project Development Assistant with two years of experience working alongside the MAG Energy team. She specializes in incentive applications, project development, data analysis, conducting research, and administrative tasks.  Prior to MAG Energy, Desire worked for an NGO providing project management, research, monitoring, data management, and evaluation of community development projects.  Her hope is to one day become Uganda’s leading energy efficiency expert.
